Some cuts are even more humiliating than a complete shave. Sounds like you could use one in a full shop with everyone watching.

I would say if you both want her to cut then you could have her cut it to a length longer than what you plan. Then if you need to get it fixed by a professional after you always can!
If you both came into my shop I would make sure to cut it however short she would like on you.
